St. John Vianney Parish will be blessed this summer with a seminarian who is to be ordained to the transitional deaconate by our new Bishop. The ordination will be at the Cathedral in Portland on Saturday, May 25, 2024[...]
Parishioners – if there is a storm forecasted for the weekend, we will try to reschedule masses instead of cancelling masses. Here is the plan for rescheduling and a decision will be made by noontime on the Friday of the weekend of an upcoming storm. This will be shared by our webpage, Facebook, Channel X, WAGM and possibly by email. Please become familiar with this plan and let us pray for good weather.
Our Church buildings are an important part of our lives and our communities. Each Church building is a reminder of God’s presence in our world and in our lives. These same buildings are a silent invitation to prayer and not just at the weekend liturgy but every day. I also know that any damage or disrespect shown to the important building evokes strong emotions from us and rightly so. I am sure you are aware of what has happened in neighboring communities here in Aroostook County. All of us need to be concerned, not just about damage done to our churches but also protecting the integrity of the Blessed Sacrament. [CLICK FOR THE REST!]
St. John Vianney Parish is very fortunate in that there are two priests assigned to the parish. The Parish shares Fr. Alex with the CLC in Frenchville. In his work at the CLC, Fr. Alex is planning on having more activities on Sunday afternoon into early evening. Looking at both the parish and CLC calendars, it would make more sense to keep the Sunday morning mass at St. Joseph's Church. This means we will continue with the current weekend mass schedule.
On the weekend of September 23 & 24, St. John Vianney Parish will be visited by a representative from the Diocese of Gallup in New Mexico. Deacon Copeland will speak about the diocese he works in, and the different ministries sponsored. The second collection that week will be to help in this work. Please pray for the continued work of the Mission Appeal and respond generously to this Holy work,
