Respect Life Month

Respect Life Month (October) is fast approaching! This year’s theme is “Radical Solidarity.” The Respect Life Program (https://portlanddiocese.org/respect-life-month) begins anew each year on Respect Life Sunday on the first Sunday in October. This year, that is October 1. During October, we are asked to consider why every human life is valuable and reflect on how to build a culture that protects life from conception to natural death. Circle of Grace Curriculum to Start after Harvest Break

Circle of Grace Safe Environment Curriculum Grade K through Grade 8 will be starting in the Faith Formation Center after harvest break. Anyone with Children in the Faith Formation Center to visit the Circle of Grace subpage or ask the Faith Formation Center about the program.

St. John Vianney Parish Cemeteries

Sunday, October 8 will be the last day to remove & pickup decorations, flowers & flags at all our parish cemeteries.

From the Pastor's Desk--Mass Schedule

St. John Vianney Parish is very fortunate in that there are two priests assigned to the parish. The Parish shares Fr. Alex with the CLC in Frenchville. In his work at the CLC, Fr. Alex is planning on having more activities on Sunday afternoon into early evening. Looking at both the parish and CLC calendars, it would make more sense to keep the Sunday morning mass at St. Joseph's Church. This means we will continue with the current weekend mass schedule.

"40 Days for Life"

“40 Days for Life” vigils are planned for Portland, Bangor, and Houlton from September 27-November 5. The peaceful vigils are part of a 40-day campaign aimed at ending abortion through prayer, fasting, and community outreach.
