In our Parish, Confirmation is usually celebrated in the 2nd grade. If you are older than 2nd grade and have not received the Sacrament yet feel moved to do so, feel free to contact the Faith Formation Center at: 207-834-3984. Alternatively, you can begin the conversation via e-mail on the right.
There is a 2 year Sacrament Preparatory class required for all children to be confirmed [and to receive their First Holy Communion. If your child is in the 1st grade and attends Religious Education classes with St John Vianney Parish, paperwork will be sent to you in the fall about the Sacrament Preparatory class.
You will need to select at least one qualified sponsor. You may select two, however it must be one man and one woman. The sponsor[s] must be Catholic, at least 16 years of age, confirmed, have already received the Sacrament of the Most Holy Eucharist and if currently married, married according to the laws of the Church. Sponsors must also lead a life in harmony with the faith and the role to be undertaken.
